Susan Pougher is the Director of Food Service for the Lower Yukon School District. She has a BS in Nutrition and Food Science. She has spent most of her professional life feeding people, both commercially and in institutional settings. Currently she is focused on finding recipes that appeal to Yupik students and meet the child nutrition standards, as well as supporting Yupik culture in Lower Yukon Schools. She travels to small villages in the Lower Yukon by boat and air. She is an enthusiastic learner of Yupik culture and even after 37 years, Alaska culture.
