Michael DuBose is a Culinary Specialist with the Georgia Department of Education, committed to fueling Georgia's future by partnering with school districts to create strong, culinary-driven dining experiences that inspire and nourish all students. In his role, he develops resources and delivers professional learning opportunities that strengthen K–12 culinary culture and support high-quality school meal programs across the state.
With more than 35 years of culinary experience, including 20 years as an Executive Chef, Michael brings a diverse and accomplished background to school nutrition. His career has spanned hotels, country clubs, business dining, restaurants, and entrepreneurship as the owner of his own establishment. Prior to joining the Georgia Department of Education, he served as Campus Executive Chef at the University of Tampa for six years, where he led culinary operations and championed innovative dining experiences.
Michael holds degrees in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University and the New England Culinary Institute. His passion for culinary education and child nutrition extends beyond the kitchen, having served on the Advisory Board for the Culinary Institute of Child Nutrition, where he contributed to advancing professional development and best practices in school foodservice.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Michael brings a spirit of service, leadership, and excellence to every aspect of his work. His mission is to support school nutrition professionals across Georgia in delivering nutritious, appealing, and memorable dining experiences that positively impact student health, learning, and success.
